Wales have called Ospreys lock Alun Wyn Jones into their squad for the remainder of the Six Nations.

Jones, 27, suffered a shoulder injury during the autumn defeat to Argentina, but made his return to action for the Ospreys as a substitute in their RaboDirect PRO12 win at Ulster on Friday. The return of Jones, who has 67 caps to his name, is a major boost for Wales, who are without second-rows Bradley Davies and Luke Charteris through injury.

Jones' Ospreys colleague Ian Evans and Newport Gwent Dragons forward Andrew Coombs have impressed in the second row so far this campaign. But to have the 2009 Lions tourist back on board gives interim head coach Rob Howley extra options in his pack, with Lou Reed, James King and Olly Kohn all lacking in Test experience.

Wales' next fixture is against Italy in Rome on February 23. Their 16-6 win over France in Paris last weekend ended a run of eight straight defeats for the reigning Grand Slam champions
