Glasgow confirmed their place in the RaboDirect play-offs with a 24-3 victory over Connacht on Saturday night to set up a semi-final with Leinster. In what was their last ever game at Firhill Stadium before their summer move to the recently redeveloped Scotstoun Stadium, the Warriors impressed throughout and grabbed the spoils thanks to tries from DTH van der Merwe and John Barclay. Glasgow's reward is a semi-final clash with Leinster who wrapped up their league campaign with a 22-18 victory over the Dragons at Rodney Parade. A try from prop Jack McGrath and points from the boot of fly-half Ian Madigan saw Leinster home. Flanker Dan Lydiate and Will Harries scored consolation tries for the Dragons at the end, adding to a couple of Lewis Robling penalties and a conversion from replacement centre Adam Hughes. Ospreys will play host to the other semi-final after they cemented second place in the table with an 18-11 win against Aironi in Viadana. On a tight night, the boot of Dan Biggar proved decisive, as he kicked two penalties and also converted one of his side's two tries which were scored by Richard Fussell and Hanno Dirksen. They will now play host to Munster who were denied a home tie despite running in five tries on their way to a 36-8 victory over Ulster. Simon Zebo and forwards Peter O'Mahony, Mike Sherry, Stephen Archer and Tommy O'Donnell all crossed for the defending league champions but their Thomond Park success was marred by a suspected knee injury which forced Paul O'Connell off midway through the second half. Elsewhere, Edinburgh ensured a winning send-off for veteran Chris Paterson with a thumping 44-21 win against Treviso. Fly-half Greig Laidlaw ended the game with a 24-point haul thanks to a try, five conversions and three penalties with Paterson, Dave Denton, Tim Visser and Kyle Traynor also touching down. The visitors notched three tries with two from Ludovico Nitoglia and one from Edoardo Gori. In the night's other game, Stephen Jones was given a victorious send-off to his illustrious Scarlets career but a bonus-point 29-20 win over the Blues was not enough to secure the West Walians a place in the play-offs due to Glasgow's win over Connacht. A fabulous contest was in the balance until the final minutes when the Scarlets claimed a penalty try, with the Blues playing their part with some superb rugby of their own.
