Argentina will hope to claim their first victory over Australia since 1997 when the two sides meet in Rosario on Saturday.
The Pumas last tasted victory over the Wallabies in Buenos Aires almost 15 years ago when Agustin Pichot and Rolando Martin scored tries in a 18-16 victory. However the Pumas came within a whisker of upsetting the Wallabies and claiming their first win in the inaugral Rugby Championship when were unfortunate to slip to a 23-19 defeat at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast three weeks ago.
It was the first meeting between Australia and Argentina since the opening game in the 2003 Rugby World Cup when the Wallabies powered to a 24-8 victory on that occasion.
The first meeting between the two sides took place in 1979 when Argentina claimed a 24-13 victory in Buenos Aires. They shared that series with the Wallabies but have since been second best and the current head to head stands at 13 wins to Australia to the Pumas' four.
On Saturday the Pumas could stamp their authority over the Wallabies on home soil with a victory taking the lead in head to heads between the nations in Argentina - the record is currently in the balance with both sides having won three matches and with one game drawn.
