Greg Peters was appointed chief executive of SANZAR in August 2010, taking the leading job in southern hemisphere rugby after a career as an administrator in New Zealand.

Peters' previous role was the CEO of the Hurricanes and Wellington Rugby Football Union since 2006, having previously led the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union and worked for many years for the New Zealand Rugby Union. Before taking over at the Hurricanes, Peters had a role at SANZAR as a tournament director, while he also managed broadcast contract negotiations in 2003 and 2004 when the SANZAR secretariat was managed by the NZRU.

Peters first started with the NZRU in 1998 and held a variety of roles with the organisation over the next eight years before taking charge of the Wellington Rugby Football Union and Hurricanes. Peters will now be based in Sydney, Australia.
