New Zealand Under-20 back-rower Luke Whitelock will join his brothers, All Blacks lock Sam, flanker George and centre Adam, in the Super Rugby arena next year after being named in the Crusaders' wider training squad.
The franchise has named eight players in the group as they continue preparations for their opening game against the Blues on February 19.
Whitelock is joined by two fellow 'Baby Blacks' in hooker Codie Taylor and lock Dominic Bird while Canterbury flanker Brendon O'Connor, wing Tu Umaga-Marshall and second five-eighth Tom Taylor join Tasman's Steve Alfeld and Sam Prattley in getting the nod.
Blues boss Pat Lam has also been busy prior to kick-off, calling up Under-20 caps Angus Ta'avao-Matau and Sean Polwart as well as teenager Gareth Anscombe for their wider training group.
They are joined on a strong panel by Northland midfielder Aaron Bancroft and North Harbour duo James King and Nafi Tuitavake.
