Chiefs prop Ben Tameifuna has been hit with an off-field yellow card after Friday's Super Rugby 43-15 loss to the Crusaders in Hamilton.
Tameifuna put his hand over the eye area of Crusaders and All Blacks prop Wyatt Crockett in a maul 15 minutes after the game started.
The citing said: "The deliberate and sustained grappling head-lock action had potential to cause injury. The dangerous grabbing of an opponent without the ball was an act contrary to good sportsmanship."
The incident didn't attract action by match referee Jonathon White.
An off-field yellow card may be issued by the Sanzar citing commissioner for incidents that are very close to, but do not meet, the red card threshold.
