Chris Eaton joins Western Force
February 26, 2013
Western Force have signed former Hurricanes half-back Chris Eaton on a short-term Super Rugby contract to provide injury cover while Brett Sheehan remains sidelined.
Sheehan is still recovering from an ankle injury sustained while playing for Australia against Italy in Florence in November, but he's likely to be back on the field in March.
Eaton, 28, played 27 Super Rugby matches across two seasons for the Hurricanes in 2011 and 2012.
He joins fellow New Zealander Alby Mathewson and Mick Snowden, who made his Super Rugby debut against Southern Kings in South Africa on Saturday night, as the current halfback options for the Force.
Eaton has begun training in Perth, and his contract with the Force will extend until Sheehan is available to resume in the playing squad.
