Profile

Bulls prop Jacobus 'Bees' Roux hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons in August 2010 when he was arrested in connection witht he death of a South African police officer in Pretoria.

A talented and experienced prop who can operate on both sides of the scrum, Roux kicked off his career with the Leopards with whom he made his Currie Cup debut in 2005, before signing for the Griquas in 2007. He got Super 14 game time with the Cheetahs, with whom he played 17 times over the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Roux played for the Royal XV who tested the British and Irish Lions in the first game of their 2009 tour of South Africa and his form earned him a move to the Bulls for the 2010 season. He featured regularly over the 2010 Super 14 and Currie Cup, despite picking up an injury along the way. However, his future is now clouded in doubt after his arrest.
