Australia will be without star flanker David Pocock for their Test against England on Saturday.

Pocock damaged the articular cartilage in his right knee during Australia's opening match of the 2012 Rugby Championship and has recently been struggling with a calf injury. The Wallabies had hoped he would be fit for Saturday's match but Pocock has failed in his bid to regain fitness and will sit out the Test.

Michael Hooper started for the Wallabies against France on Saturday and looks the favourite to get the nod at openside against England. And the Wallabies have received a further blow with the news that lock Kane Douglas will also miss the England match due to a knee injury.

Australia came off second best in the scrum against France at the weekend but hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau is confident that they can edge England in that department when the two teams come face-to-face at Twickenham.

"We are confident we can dominate the English scrum," Polota-Nau said. "We have got it right in previous games, we just have to revisit where we were strong and concentrate on that.

"We didn't executive well against the French and got penalised a fair few times. The bright side is that when we did get it right, it went well. We just have to make sure we don't let the referee into the game."
