Luke McLean is a versatile Italian international of Australian origin who can operate throughout the backline.
He grew up in Queensland, Australia, and went on to play for Perth Spirit before joining Italian side Calvisano in 2007 having turned down an offer to join Western Force.
McLean represented Australia at under-19 level but also qualified for Italy due to his Italian grandmother. He made his debut for Italy against South Africa in June 2008 and scored his first international points against England in the 2009 Six Nations.
Having failed to establish himself as a first-choice fly-half, McLean was increasingly utilised at fullback - the position he held for the national team during the 2011 Six Nations. McLean - who lines up for Treviso - will go to the 2011 World Cup with the national side.
