A late Morne Steyn penalty has helped the Bulls overcome a dogged Sharks challenge and secure a 18-16 thriller in Durban.
But a poor piece of discipline gave Steyn the chance to secure a famous victory, as he has done on numerous occasions, and he delivered.
The one-point win ensured the Bulls remained second in the Super Rugby ladder, while the loss ended the Sharks' play-off hopes.
Steyn's accurate boot gave the visitors a 9-3 half-time lead, the South Africa pivot making three of four opportunities count.

A further three penalties for Steyn in the second half ensured they were able to overhaul McLeod's try.
It looked as if the Sharks would have one final push for what would have been a famous victory given their injury woes and subsequent confidence issues.
But a knock-on some 22 metres away from the try line summed up the night for the Sharks. Despite giving it their all and securing a lead with five minutes to play, the hosts were still unable to find a way to win.
