South Africa host the All Blacks at Free State Stadium on Saturday, kicking off their Tri- Nations campaign and looking to break their duck against the All Blacks in Bloemfontein.

In their two previous meetings at the ground, the last coming in 1976, the Springboks have registered a loss and a draw against their fierce Kiwi rivals.

Last season the Boks broke their Carisbrook hoodoo thanks to Ricky Januarie's individual try but lost out 2-1 over their three Tri-Nations matches - incuding being nilled at Newlands in Cape Town.

Ahead of the eagerly-awaited showdown we look back at the previous clashes between these two giants of the international game.
