Profile

Rossouw's appearance against New Zealand in the 1995 Rugby World Cup Final was only his fifth in Springboks colours. The Sharks hooker benefited from a suspension handed down to rival James Dalton for his part in a mass brawl against Canada earlier in the tournament. Following the tournament he was cast into the international rugby wilderness and did not play for the Springboks again until 1999 before going on to appear in his second Rugby World Cup later the same year. More recently he has battled cancer - a disease that claimed the Springboks' coach Kitch Christie in 1998 and team-mate Ruben Kruger in 2010.
