The Western Province back is equally adept at on the wing and in the centres. And his versatility has been fully utlised by South Africa having played in both positions as well as briefly at fly-half.
He took his international bow against Wales in June 2010 and marked the occasion with a try. Following an impressive 2011 Super Rugby campaign and prior Currie Cup, de Jongh hoped to keep his place in the national side for the 2011 Tri-Nations. He played two matches during the campaign and was named as part of Peter de Villiers' 30-man squad for the World Cup.
