About

The Six Nations

The Six Nations is an annual competition contested by England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales.

The teams play each other once with home field advantage alternating from one year to the next.

The Six Nations began as the Home Nations Championship in 1883 and following the introduction of France it was re-named the Five Nations. The competition took on its current form when Italy joined their European rivals in 2000.
