Peter Bracken has joined Guinness Premiership side Harlequins after leaving Bristol by mutual consent earlier on Wednesday. Bracken, 30, will join up with his new club on a contract set to run until the end of the season. "I am looking forward to having Peter join us here at Harlequins and I am sure he will be a very valuable addition to, what already is, a strong pack," said Harlequins Director of Rugby Dean Richards. Bracken joined Bristol from Wasps in 2007. He won the Heineken Cup with the London club and also won caps for Ireland A and toured with the full squad in the summers of 2006 and 2007, but failed to win a full cap under Eddie O'Sullivan. "Bracks is a lovely man and a very good player but it hasn't really worked out for him here at Bristol," said Bristol Head Coach Richard Hill after Bracken's departure was announced. "The shoulder injury ruined his first season and we've had two other very good props in Jason Hobson and Darren Crompton in front of him as well as Wayne Thompson returning from Oxford University." "So, we sat down with him and decided that it would be in the best interests of both parties to reach a mutual agreement and end his contract early." © Scrum.com
