France Hooker Kayser signs for Tigers
May 24, 2007
Leicester Tigers have signed France A international hooker Benjamin Kayser from Stade Francais.
The 22-year-old, who played against Tigers in the Heineken Cup quarter-final at Welford Road this season, will join up with the squad in time for the 2007/08 season.
A French Championship finalist and Heineken Cup finalist with Stade in 2005, Kayser has been capped at France A level and played in the U-21 World Championship for France two years ago.
"We believe he is the best young hooker in France," said Tigers forwards coach Richard Cockerill. "He has come through the Academy at Stade Francais and for us to sign him shows what strong desire there is from players to come to Leicester Tigers.
"He is a good ball-runner, he has played a lot of French championship games so he is good at the set-piece, and we think he will get even better with Leicester."
