Cribb, MacDonald , Maxwell doubtful starters for Crusaders
April 4, 2000
The Crusaders could be without three of their most effective players for Friday's match against the Hurricanes in Wellington.
No.8 Ron Cribb, lock Norm Maxwell and fullback Leon MacDonald were all injured in the extraordinary home win over the Highlanders last Saturday.
The Crusaders' camp is having to work under the handicap of their round seven tie being played on Friday, not really time enough for each of the players to recover from their knocks.
The loss of Cribb and Maxwell from the Crusaders' forward pack would be a particularly severe blow.
The Hurricanes are sure to be fired up as they seek to make amends for their disappointing showing against the Auckland Blues last Friday.
That defeat puts them under real pressure, a win against the Crusaders essential if they are to recover the ground they have lost.
