March 27, 2000
Hong Kong Sevens player of the tournament Karl Te Nana could soon be joining the Highlanders in Super 12.
Reports in New Zealand are suggesting that the 26 year old speedster could be drafted by the Highlanders as a replacement for the injured Dan Parkinson.
Te Nana's absence would be a major blow to sevens coach Gordon Tietjens , who is likely to be without Craig Newby and Tony Monaghan for the coming wekend's tournament in Japan.Newby has an ankle injury and Monaghan is probably concussed after being knocked unconscious during the final against Fiji.
