New pitch to be laid at Stade de France

Officials at the Stade de France announced here on Wednesday that a new pitch would be laid in preparation for France's Six Nations match against Ireland on March 19 and the Champions League final May 24.
"We decided last Thursday to change the pitch and started work the next day which should be completed the week before France host Ireland," announced a stadium official.
The pitch was criticised by French football players after the recent friendly against Poland, four days after England beat France 15-9 in a Six-Nations rugby match.
