Hoeft unlikely starter against the Sharks
February 29, 2000
Otago Highlanders and All Black prop Carl Hoeft is likely to miss the Highlanders' second game against the Sharks in Dunedin on Friday.
Hoeft strained a calf muscle during the Highlanders' thrashing of the Queensland Reds last Friday , but the injury is not thought to be a recurrence of the injury that disrupted Hoeft's 1999 All Black season.
Hoeft's likely replacment is Joe McDonnell.
