Lamaison to miss Paris showdown
Paris
February 14, 2000

French fly-half Christophe Lamaison has been ruled out of the crunch Six Nations Championship match with England here at the Stade de France on Saturday.
Lamaison saw team doctors on Monday to determine the extent of a knee injury picked up over the weekend but the verdict went against the player. He will be replaced in the squad by Stephane Glas of Bourgoin, while it is expected that Toulouse's Alain Penaud will start the match in place of Lamaison.
An X-ray on Monday showed that the player was suffering from a sprain to an internal ligament in his right knee follwing an injury sustained in the match between Brive and Dax.
Lamaison was in top form in France's 36-3 win over Wales in their opening match in Cardiff, with three conversions, four penalties and a drop goal.
Christophe Dominici, Fabien Galthie and David Venditti, who are all nursing injuries, should be fit for Saturday's match.
