French club Agen are being investigated for possibly fielding ineligible players in this season's European Shield tournament.
Tournament officials have called on the club to give details of all players used.
A statement from European Rugby Cup Ltd read: "There is a possibility that SU Agen have fielded ineligible players in Pool 7.
"Once this information is received, the tournament director Roger Pickering will consider whether to bring a complaint to the Chairman of ERC, Jean-Pierre Lux, asking him to set up an ERC disciplinary committee to consider the complaint and possible sanctions.
