Munster forced into changes for weekend
January 6, 2000
The Munster team to play Saracens in next Saturday's Heineken Cup Pool 4 match at Thomond Park in Limerick shows two changes compared to the side which started in the defeat of Colomiers last month in Cork.
A third change at right or left wing is possible, depending on the fitness of John Kelly and Anthony Horgan.
Dominic Crotty takes over from Jeremy Staunton at full-back, while Peter Clohessy returns at loosehead prop instead of Marcus Horan. A back injury kept Clohessy out of the Colomiers match, while Crotty came on as a replacement in that game.
The captain, Mick Galwey, has overcome a recent knee injury sustained playing for his club Shannon against Young Munster in an AIB League match last week. The replacements' panel will be finalised later.
Munster: D Crotty; J Kelly or J O'Neill, J Holland, M Mullins, A Horgan or J O'Neill; R O'Gara, P Stringer; P Clohessy, K Wood, J Hayes, M Galwey(capt), J Langford, A Quinlan, D Wallace, A Foley. Replacements (from): J O'Neill, J Staunton, T Tierney, F Sheahan, M Horan, D O'Callaghan, M O'Driscoll, E Halvey, K O'Connell.
