Smith favourite for Fiji post
Suva
January 3, 2000

Former Wallaby coach Greg Smith is emerging as the favourite to succeed Brad Johnstone as the new national coach of Fiji.
Johnstone moved on to a similar role with the Italian squad in December and since then the Fiji Rugby Union have been searching for a satisfactory replacement.
It is believed that their have been 17 applications for the post but that Smith is the only one of those 17 to fill the Fijian authorities main criteria, which is that their new coach will have to have coached at full international level elsewhere.
