Maka signs for The Chiefs

Isitolo Maka , rejected by the Otago Highlanders when the Super 12 2000 squads were announced, has been drafted into the Waikato Chiefs squad. There had been speculation that if Caleb Ralph stayed at Auckland there would be a vacancy at Canterbury, but an injury to the Chiefs' Dutch international Nick Holten has paved the way for a reprieve for the 24 year old Maka. He certainly has incentive enough to make 2000 a memorable season. |
