Wrist injury to sideline Bowman
Sydney
December 1, 1999

New South Wales second-row Tom Bowman will miss the opening three matches of next season's Super 12 series due to a wrist injury.
The Australian World Cup-winning squad member will undergo wrist surgery after an arthroscopy on Wednesday revealed serious ligament damage. The operation will take place in the next two weeks and will result in him being out of action for up to three months.
Team doctor Sharron Flahive said the wrist problem was an aggravation of an old injury which Bowman sustained as long ago as 1995.
Warathas coach Ian Kennedy could look to either Peter Besseling or Daniel Manu as possible replacements for Bowman.
