Wallaby winger Tune undegoes surgery
November 25, 1999

Australian rugby World Cup winger Ben Tune underwent shoulder surgery here Thursday, wrapping up a list of minor operations for a Wallaby contingent.
Tune and fellow Queenslanders Tim Horan (hernia), Daniel Herbert (hand), Dan Crowley (ankle/shoulder) and Glenn Panoho (elbow) have gone under the knife since returning from Australia's World Cup triumph on November 6.
Tune, the flying winger who scored a try in the World Cup final win over France in Cardiff, had surgery on the AC joint in his left shoulder.
Queensland coach John Connolly said he expects Tune to be fit for the Reds' opening Super 12 clash in February, with Herbert the only player who could still be sidelined when the new season begins.
The powerful outside centre had surgery on a bone in his hand but Reds team doctor Greg Smith said early indications showed Herbert was recovering well.
