Benetton Treviso sign South African fly half

With the start of the European Cup just around the corner Benetton Treviso has announced the signing of South African fly half JacquesBenade.
Benade, 31, last season played for the Natal Sharks in the Super 12, as Henry Honiball's replacement, and in the Currie Cup forthe Mpumalanga Pumas, scoring 300 points in eighteen games. Big and powerful, at 95 Kg and 184 cm, Benade in 1995 scored 22 points for the South-East Transvaal side that beat Wales 47-6 in Witbank and in 1998 led South West Districts to their 27-20 win over Ireland, scoring 15 points.
He is expected to be in Treviso by Thursday but it is unlikely to be on the field for his new team in their opening European Cup match against Montferrand on Saturday.
