Dixon praises Reds defence
Glasgow
November 13, 1999

Glasgow Caledonians' coach Richie Dixon was full of praise for his side after their 32-18 win over Neath in the Welsh/Scottish league on Friday night.
"It was probably the fastest match that has been seen up here for many a while," he said.
"There was some very good stuff at the start of both halves, but some of the bits in between left a bit to be desired. But I felt we deserved it overall, and our defence was exceptional."
Dixon singled out Glenn Metcalfe for special praise and can now look forward to next week's European Cup opener against Stade Francais with added confidence.
"At this time last year, Glenn was seen mainly as an attacking full-back," said Dixon. "However tonight he saved at least one and possibly two or three tries. Even players of his standard can benefit from taking part in this competition, and it will be just as high next week.''
The win sees the Reds move to seventh place after a good recent run of form, while Neath remain in fourth place, still four points behind leaders Pontypridd.
