November 11, 1999
A record four year deal has apparently been struck which will see Heineken returning as sponsors of the European Cup, according to reports in England's Daily Mail.
The report goes on to suggest that England's six qualifiers will expect to earn £800,000 each. The return of the brewery as sponsor will help raise the sponsorship and television revenue to more than £70m over four years.
