Scots ring changes for final pool game
Troon
October 13, 1999

Scotland have made 13 changes for their game against Spain at Murrayfield on Saturday.
Chris Paterson, 21, will make his debut at full-back just 12 months after playing in the Scottish Second Division with Gala, while former London Scottish prop Paul Burnell will make his 50th international appearance.
Only two of the side who started against Uruguay are retained as Jim Telfer ensures all the squad get a run out before the knock out stages.
Of the side which started against the South Americans only winger Cammie Murray and centre Jamie Mayer have retained their places, although six others are named on the bench.
Mayer in particular will be keen to impress following the news that John Leslie will play no further part in the competition because of his sprained ankle.
The side features what was at the start of last season the first-choice half back partnership of Bryan Redpath and Duncan Hodge.
Redpath will captain the side, having taken over the role from scrum half rival Gary Armstrong who is resting a back injury.
Team: Chris Paterson; Cameron Murray, Jamie Mayer, James McLaren, Shaun Longstaff; Duncan Hodge, Bryan Redpath (capt); Stuart Reid, Cammie Mather, Peter Walton, Andy Reed, Doddie Weir, Paul Burnell, Rob Russell, Dave Hilton.
Replacements: Glenn Metcalfe, Gregor Townsend, Iain Fairley, Martin Leslie, Stuart Grimes, George Graham, Gordon Bulloch.
