"We'll get better": Henry
Iain Morrison reports from Cardiff
October 1, 1999

Graham Henry had the look of a man who had walked half-way to the gallows before his reprieve arrived at the news conference after todays game.
"We'll get better as the tournament progresses", he promised.
"As a side our game-plan revolved around keeping the ball in hand so the weather conditions didn't make things any easier for us".
When asked about whether his side could go on to win the Cup Henry appeared exasperated with the enquiry. "We have a long way to go", he insisted before adding, "I have been trying to give that impression for several months now".
Skipper Robert Howley backed him up but did concede, "the boys were very hyped today but we gave Quesada too many points".
By Henry's own admission, "this wasn't a great performence". Still the host nation needed a win and as the coach pointed out "we scored two tries today and should have had another two. That was the difference between the sides".
"Most teams will find their opening game difficult", he concluded, "but we are reasonably happy with today".
