The Scottish board (SRU) is understood to be looking at the feasibility of staging international rugby at Ibrox after the success of the Sevens tournament at the Commonwealth Games.
The SRU stages one game away from Ibrox every autumn and the huge support for the Sevens - over 170,000 attended the two days of matches at the weekend - has led to the venue being brought into consideration for 2015.
The board is bidding to host a leg of the IRB World Sevens Series until 2020 and if that is successful it seems odds-on that Ibrox will be chosen venue.
