Wales are monitoring tight-head Adam Jones' fitness ahead of their autumn internationals.

Jones has been struggling with a knee injury and is a doubt for their opening Test against Argentina on November 10. The loss of the prop would be a sizeable blow as Wales look to bounce back from their 3-0 series defeat to Australia in the summer.

And ahead of their matches with Argentina, Samoa, New Zealand and Australia, interim coach Rob Howley has called up Scarlets prop Samson Lee for their Poland training camp. Jones will still travel to Spala, where Wales' prepared for their 2011 World Cup campaign.

"In order to get the best out of Spala it is important for us that the squad is able to work at optimum level," said Howley. "Samson has been called in as a precaution to train with the squad, as cover for Adam and to ensure that the squad can get through the work it needs to over the seven or eight days we are away in order to maximise our gains from the camp."

Jones' Ospreys colleague Aaron Jarvis was also named in Howley's squad. The 26-year-old was the only uncapped player in the initial selection and he is adamant that he can deliver if called upon should his Ospreys colleague be absent at any stage during November.

"You have to believe in yourself and if I get the opportunity I will be desperate to perform well, I have to do well in training and put my best foot forward first though," Jarvis said. "But Adam has been great to me, he is easy to talk to and willing to help and he has helped with my development a lot and it has made me a better player to be around him."
