England prop Matt Stevens has extended his contract with Saracens.
The former Bath prop, who was named as a substitute for England's Six Nations clash with Wales on Saturday, was given a route back into the game in 2011 after a two-year ban for taking a recreational drug. And he has taken advantage of second chance by playing a central role in Sarries' charge to Aviva Premiership title last season and winning back his place in the England squad.
"It was an incredibly easy decision. I could not imagine playing anywhere else," said Stevens.
Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall said: "Matt is widely recognised as a world-class player, performing week in week out at the very highest level. We are fortunate to have a player of such quality within our squad, and we are very pleased he has agreed to extend his contract."
Meanwhile young hooker Jamie George has also signed a contract extension with Saracens. The 21-year-old, former England under-20 international, is vying with Schalk Brits and former Springboks hooker John Smit at Saracens but has already made a significant impact for the first team.
George said: "I have always been a Saracen and I hope I always will be a Saracen."
McCall added: "Jamie knows how much he is valued at this club. He's a hugely talented young hooker and a natural leader with massive potential in the game and we are delighted he has chosen to keep working hard to fulfil that potential at Saracens."
