Treviso scrum-half Semenzato was hurled on to the international scene as a late call-up to the Italian side which faced England in the 2011 Six Nations. Having played for Italy A - Semenzato was eventually rewarded with his debut against England and went onto play a further three times for Italy during the competition - including their historic win over France.
Semenzato - who finished in second place for player of the tournament behind team-mate Masi - will go to the forthcoming World Cup having been named in their 30-man squad for the showpiece tournament.
