Anthony Henniker-Gotley played six matches for England as scrum-half in a little over a year before moving to Rhodesia in 1911. He won a Blue at Oxford in 1909 and played his club rugby for Blackheath as well as representing Surrey, Kent and the Barbarians. His international debut came in 1910 against France in Paris and he remained in the side until the end of the 1910-11 season when he left the country. In 1910 he toured Argentina with an RFU side which played an international against the hosts. He served in World War One in Africa before returning to Ireland in 1926, and also served with the RAF in World War Two.
