Profile

The vastly experienced No.8 has previously turned out for Montauban, Bayonne and Pau in France before an injury in 2008 very nearly ended his career. After being told that walking again would be a bonus as a result of tearing both his ACL and ICL and breaking the leg, Grachev defied medical opinion and not only walked again but continued turning out for the Russian national side. Aged 38 he is one of the oldest players in the 2011 World Cup.
