Profile

Nemani Nadolo, formerly Ratu Nasiganiyavi, is a giant winger blessed with blistering pace who has, unsurprisingly, drawn favourable comparisons with the legendary Jonah Lomu.

Standing 6ft 5ins and weighing in at 19st 5lbs, the Fijian is an incredible physical specimen who always stood out from his peers. He started out at Perth Spirit in the 2007 Mazda Australian Rugby Championship before making the switch to Randwick, for whom he notched 13 tries in his first seven outings.

Nadolo's kept up his remarkable try-scoring rate in the IRB Junior World Championship, dotting seven times in five matches to finish as the tournament's top scorer.

He subsequently signed with the Waratahs before changing his name in 2009, adopting the maiden name of his mother, who had been forced to raise Nadolo and his siblings on her own.

Nadolo then moved to France to link up with Bourgoin for the start of the 2010/2011 Top 14 season before leaving mid season after agreeing an 18-month deal with the Exeter Chiefs.

After a promising start to his Exeter career, it emerged that he used his Australian rather than Fijian passport to register with the Chiefs, leading to the club being sanctioned for fielding too many foreign players for a match against Leeds. As a Fijian international he would have been exempt from the rule, but as an Australian national he was not. The Rugby Football Union (RFU) hit Exeter with a two-point deduction as well as a fine of £5,000.

Nadolo then parted company with the club by mutual consent on May 18, 2011, just a day after he had admitted to a charge of drink-driving to city magistrates.
