The Waratahs were not in action during round one, but they played a trial against the Crusaders in Sydney and lost narrowly 16-14. The scoreboard didn't favour the home side, however star recruit Israel Folau was awarded Man of the Match honours and looks in fine touch ahead of their first match against the Reds in Brisbane.
