England's Delon Armitage has been cited for a "dangerous high tackle" on Scotland's Chris Paterson during their Rugby World Cup clash in Auckland on Saturday.

Armitage appeared to catch Paterson high with his shoulder during his side's dramatic 16-12 victory at Eden Park with the challenge leaving the veteran fullback requiring treatment.

The winger has been called to appear before a disciplinary hearing in Auckland tomorrow, starting at 1am BST. The offence carries a guideline suspension of between two and 10 weeks, or matches in the World Cup context.

France also have a player in hot water after centre Fabrice Estebanez was cited for a dangerous tip tackle in Les Bleus' shock defeat by Tonga. Estebanez's hearing is also scheduled for Monday and if found guilty he will miss the quarter-final clash with England.
