Profile

Lee Dickson was born in Germany and made a name for himself at the Newcastle Falcons as a promising scrum-half before switching to the Northampton Saints in a move that later propelled him into the England squad.

He made 41 appearances in the Premiership for the Falcons from 2005 to 2008 before making the switch to the Saints but during this time he was called up to the 2007 Churchill Cup squad.

When Dickson took the call up in 2007 to the squad, he found himself in the unusual position of being named in both the Scotland A side and the Saxons. Dickson opted to play for the Saxons and has never looked back. He was also part of the squad which won the 2010 Churchill Cup but missed out in 2011 through injury.

At the Saints Dickson has been at the front of their resurgance in the Premiership playing alongside a variety of half-backs. He missed the majority of their 2010-11 season through injury but after a promising start to the 2011-12 campaign, Dickson made the 2012 EPS selection.

And Dickson took his bow for England against Scotland as a second-half substitute for Ben Youngs as Stuart Lancaster's side took the Calcutta Cup. Dickson was once again used as a substitute in the following match and did enough to earn three starts in England's final three matches of the 2012 Six Nations.

Dickson continued to shine for the Saints in their Premiership run-in and kept his place in the squad for the tour to South Africa. With both Ben Youngs and Danny Care in the squad, along with a late call up for his brother Karl, Dickson found his Test action restricted to two appearances from the bench in the first two matches with the Boks.
