Following a 15-10 loss to Zebre at the weekend, Davies resigned from his post in charge of the Blues on Monday. The search will now begin for his successor and Blues CEO Richard Holland has confirmed he will bring Gatland on board to help pick their new coach.
"We'd like Warren to be involved in the process," Holland told Wales Online. "We want him to be involved in drawing up a short-list and be on the appointment panel, along with members of the board.
"We will be looking to find the best available candidate, from wherever that may be in the world. We want the best guy to take this region forward and we are very keen to utilise Warren's expertise in the process."
