Ulster will be without Paddy McAllister for the majority of the season after the prop suffered a serious knee injury in training.
The 23-year-old has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and lateral collateral ligament and will be forced to sit out most of Ulster's campaign, which kicks off against Glasgow on August 31.
McAllister - named as a support player in the Ireland squad for the 2012 Six Nations - will now see specialists to determine the exact recovery time.
Ulster can also call on Tom Court, John Afoa, Declan Fitzpatrick and Ricky Lutton as front-row cover for the forthcoming season.
