The Glasgow Warriors have announced their fifth signing ahead of the new season with Byron McGuigan committing to a two-year deal.
The 22-year-old has been turning out for Scotland's Sevens team on the current HSBC Sevens World Series tour and has bagged himself five tries. He joins former All Blacks back-row Angus MacDonald, No.8 Villiami Ma'afu, Newcastle Falcons' Swinson and Sean Lamont in signing for the Warriors.
Warriors boss Sean Lineen is relishing the chance to see McGuigan - who has had a spell with Western Province - running out for his side. "Byron is a player with real potential," Lineen said. "We've kept a keen eye on him during his involvement with the Scotland Sevens team, and we're convinced he has the right attributes to be an asset for Glasgow Warriors.
"He's strong, he's creative and he's got a great step and work ethic. He's primarily an outside centre, but he's capable of contributing strongly in any of the back three positions as well."
