Cardiff Blues have suspended Gavin Henson with immediate effect following an incident on the team's flight home after defeat to Glasgow on Friday night.
The Wales centre, signed on an eight-month deal by the Blues in October last year, came off the bench as they were routed 31-3 at Firhill.
Henson's return to Wales followed unhappy spells at Saracens and Toulon - where he was also suspended following an altercation with team-mates - and an 18-month sabbatical from the game.
Cardiff's management team will meet on Monday to decide whether further action should be taken.
"Cardiff Blues can confirm that Gavin Henson has been suspended with immediate effect following an incident on the flight back from Scotland after their match against Glasgow Warriors last night," a spokesperson said. "The Cardiff Blues management team will meet first thing Monday morning to discuss the matter further."
Later, airline Flybe confirmed that an internal investigation had been opened with regards to the incident.
"With regard to flight BE3431 from Glasgow to Cardiff on March 31, Flybe can confirm that it is gathering information from its own staff as well as those at both airports and will make no further comment at this time," a spokeswoman said.
After several reality television appearances including on Strictly Come Dancing and The Bachelor, Henson made his long-awaited return to rugby in the Blues' 28-9 RaboDirect PRO12 victory over Newport Gwent Dragons on December 23.
Henson's absence could be a growing concern for the Blues next week as they prepare to face Leinster in the Heineken Cup quarter-finals, with Wales midfielder Jamie Roberts sidelined with a knee injury sustained against the Warriors.
