  • Leicester Tigers have announced they have sold 10,000 season tickets for next season.

The Guinness Premiership finallists opened their new Caterpillar Stand during last season and their on field success has driven ticket sales beyond five figures.

Club managing director David Clayton said, "Season ticket numbers hit a record of more than 13,000 for this year and to have 10,000 supporters already committed to joining us for next season at this stage is tremendous news.

"Also within the 10,000 which have already been sold for next season are around 500 new season ticket holders. That is excellent news and shows just how the matchday atmosphere at Welford Road and the performances of the team can make a big impression on our newcomers."

  • Sale Sharks are in talks with Ireland Sevens international Kyle Tonetti who was expected to move to Connacht. A slick out-half cum centre, Tonetti is a product of the Leinster Academy but has failed to make the step up to the senior team, instead playing regularly for Blackrock College in the All Ireland League. His league form had seen him earmarked for a move to the western province, but that is now in danger as the player could be tempted to move to Edgeley Park.
