Gloucester are poised to announce the signing of Scotland's Greig Laidlaw, ESPN understands.
Laidlaw, who is equally adept at scrum-half and fly-half, will help cover the void left by Freddie Burns who is widely expected to be joining Leicester next term. Laidlaw will bring a wealth of experience to Gloucester's backs having won 27 caps for Scotland.
He will link-up with fellow new signings Richard Hibbard and John Afoa at Gloucester as the team plans a mass overhaul of its playing staff. Ex-All Black Jimmy Cowan's future is uncertain with his contract up at the end of the season.
