Former Ospreys fullback Barry Davies' hopes of joining London Welsh appear to be over.
Davies was released by the Welsh region at the end of last season and had been linked with a move to the newly promoted London Welsh. But with the Exiles trying to meet the required 14 players in a matchday 23 being 'English qualified', ESPNscrum understands the move for Welshman Davies appears to have hit the buffers.
London Welsh coach Lyn Jones had previously spoken of his admiration for the 31-year-old but with the likes of Hudson Tonga'uiha, Gordon Ross, Gavin Henson, Leo Halavatau and Sonny Parker on their books, they appear to have already filled their quota of non-England qualified players for next season.
